Kleber Nascimento, born in 1991 in São Paulo/SP, Brazil, began his career as a photojournalist in 2008, collaborating with photography agencies such as Futurapress. Between 2010 and 2013, he worked as a camera assistant and DIT on feature film and commercial projects in Brazil. Since 2014, Nascimento has been living in Berlin.
In 2019, he earned his bachelor's degree in cinematography from Babelsberg Konrad Wolf Film University in Potsdam, and he is set to complete his master's degree at the same institution in 2024. As a cinematographer, his work ranges from experimental projects to historical productions, including fashion and music videos. However, Nascimento remains primarily focused on fiction films, working on both short and feature-length narrative projects.
One of his recent works, the short film Staircase, directed by Friedrich Tiedtke, was nominated for the 31st German Camera Award (Deutscher Kamerapreis) in 2021. Additionally, his film Quarta-Feira, a Brazilian-German musical directed by João Pedro Prado and Bárbara Santos, premiered at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival in 2023, under the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section.
